Hair Hat Chignon with Veil

Photo: Larry Nicholls

The veils worn with hats in the 2012 movie version of “Anna Karenina” are so beautiful they could set a fashion trend.   In 1978, a black veil with a  feather was added to La Coupe’s Cadette Chignon, a hair hat chignon for a drop dead chic look.

This unique chignon with a veil added was designed by Jerome Pinsonneault of La Coupe for an Armani fashion show in Toronto, and was worn with hair all up or, as here, with hair half up and half down. Nothing like it had been done before.  For more, full credits and how to make your own, go to Hair/Then, La Coupe, 70s, Hat Chignons on

Why is there so much ugly short tasteless geometric hair being photographed these days?  The ugliness is getting worse and worse on the Internet, on Facebook, on hair sites and editing out the worst offenders seems too much effort.
