Take in the deconstructed hosiery. To the right, the emojis tell the story on a simple white jacket with chains dangling from the sleeves. Peter Gray’s romantic two length wet-looking hair that isn’t wet, which he calls “a diaphanous angelic look.” The hair is actually dry, with the moisture sealed into the hair. Romantic dress with tiers of pink frills by Nicola Formichetti for Nicopanda’s Spring New York Fashion Week Presentation.  More from this avant-garde Presentation for her and him, click HERE

Men’s hair is getting longer again for the avant-garde and it’s only a matter of time before more men are growing their hair longer, as seen here on this gorgeous man at the Nicopanda Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week Presentation.   Peter Gray, who did three different hair looks for this Presentation likes “the wet, sweaty head, sort of like someone just came out of a concert,” he explained. “Although the hair looks wet, it’s dry and the moisture is sealed into the hair.”   More, click HERE

Bundle Up In The Snow, With Style - Fall 2014

It is almost time.  For the Fall 2016 Collections at New York Fashion Week.  Stay tuned.  In the meantime, be inspired by this interesting man with all his accessories and hair up to there I photographed in the freezing cold, in February, during NY Fashion Week for Fall 2014. Fab from head to toe.  He didn’t wait for me to find out who he was before hopping into a passing taxi. I blogged here on him the next day and later added him to the Scene 1 album on my website, click here:

Six months later, I was scrolling through Discover on Twitter, something I look at every so often, and there he was. Did a little research.  He is the Market & Accessories Director for Marie-Claire, known for his avant-garde style and impeccable taste. His name is Kyle Anderson, and he is also a Consultant, Stylist, Fashion Icon,  to be found on Twitter @KyleEditor

One of three looks presented in one of three different rooms with punk, goth, romantic, athletic, and glittering looks designed by Nicola Formichetti for his third Nicopanda Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week Presentation, for which Lady Gaga made an appearance.  The center man here is wearing a frilled multi-level skirt with a black anorak, then there are the genderless black latex fashions with a punk rocker/goth feel, a look with a great skirt and wet-looking hair that is not, by Peter Gray. Glitter Glitters on Faces – 2016

Glitter glittering is cool right now. The New York Fashion Week Presentation for Nicola Formichetti’s Nicopanda featured punk, goth, romance and glitter on faces for her and him. Maki Ryoke, Mac Makeup Artist, blew the glitter on in strategic places, protecting the rest of the face and the hair by Peter Gray, which included three different hair looks presented in three different rooms. Here, the hair is crimped in here and there on her and glam, softly waved, behind one ear on him, worn with an athletic hoodie look tied with a satin bow. For more on the Nicopanda trend-setting genderless ones like no others, click HERE

Charlize Theron Mad Max – 2013-2016

Charlize Theron – 2012/13 and before

Collage by helenoppenheim.com

I first posted Charlize Theron in “Mad Max Fury Road” October 2013, then again when it was belatedly released on May 15, 2014.  Here I am posting it again because the movie got so many Oscar nominations today. And can be seen on HBO tonight. Here is my post.

Movie Actress, Oscar-winner Charlize Theron and her hair over the years from long to mid to bald to short buzzed with (omg, top right) grey showing to a short crop growing out beautifully.

She shaved her hair bald for the  new fourth  “Mad Max” movie, “Fury Road” –  due May 15  with Tom Hardy as Mad Max, the role Mel Gibson originated.  She plays Furiosa in the Australian Warner Bros movie which has taken a while to arrive.  (This collage and story were first posted on Helen’s Blog in October 2013!)

No wigs for Charlize.  Most of us first saw her cropped hair after the Mad Max shave at the 2013 Oscars, with Charlize looking magnificent,  a hot standout, but here are some earlier photos.  We also remember her from past Oscars, red carpets, the great J’Adore Dior Perfume Ads and we’ve always thought her beautiful, even bald.
