Gorgeous gowns, lots of lovely lace, often highly embellished with ornate embroidery and hand-beadwork, deconstructed silhouettes, then rebuilt for a new balance, each a statement piece. These stunning gowns are for red carpets, beautiful brides, drop-dead entrances to balls and galas, by Jonahan Simkhai for his spectacular New York Fashion Week Show for Spring/Summer 2o017. The hair, by Thomas Osborn for Catwalk by TIGI was natural-looking with an element of dry roughness, a thin braid crisscrossed with white thread ending in a bead or two on one side, a long thin earring with a bead or two on the other side. Desert Warrior fashion by Nicholas K at their New York Fashion Week Show for Spring/Summer 2017 was inspired by Bedouin culture in the mystic Wadi Rum, a scenic desert valley in Jordan, a place of narrow canyons, wind swept towering plateaus, dramatic sandstone mountains with a stark dusty palette, given the nickname – “The Valley of the Moon.”   To see more romantic fashions, shown with long flowing scarves,  visors, or oversized sun hats and “I Dream of Jeannie” hair sprouting at the top, click HERE

A half stripe on eyes is simple and effective for those who want a little something different.   By Aveda’s Janell Geason at the Francesca Liberatore New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2o17. One of the best looks, this gorgeous red one shoulder big squashy  bow-tied dress with ends flying,  and experimental checks. “I was inspired by balloons flying freely in the sky and angels carrying women higher and higher,” said the designer, “and a nod to the iconic silhouette of the 1950s.” Note the “Feel” tattoo on the model’s shoulder!   For more on this show, click HERE
