Harvey Weinstein, the former studio executive and mogul now seeking treatment for alleged assault and sexual harassment addiction, has opened the floodgates on the subject, and the Me Too movement has finally taken off. The latest scandal involves fashion photographer Terry Richardson, recently banned again from Condé Nast and top magazines, even more than he was a few years ago. when his problems first came to light. It is worth reading the New York Times article in the Style Section today “A Scapegoat for The Fashion Industry?” by Vanessa Friedman and Elizabeth Paton on the subject of Richardson CLICK HERE and then an absolute must-read and an eye-opener is a book by Michael Gross – “Focus: The Secret, Sexy, Sometimes Sordid World of Fashion” which spotlights Richardson and other top fashion photographers like Bill King, Bert Stern of Marilyn Monroe fame, and other very famous names – some will shock you, all will fascinate. Here’s a photo which could be a collector’s item and is part of hair history from way back when Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were a hot ticket item. The style was new at the time, but looks today, right now.  Even more fabulous, they wore the same look to the New York Premiere of Brad Pitt’s movie “The Devil’s Own” at Cinema One on Third Avenue in 1997.

Gwyneth’s hair was cut and designed by the legendary John Sahag, Brad’s by Deedra Norris of the John Sahag Workshop, who also styled both superheads for this premiere. How did Deedra get to cut Brad Pitt’s hair? Here is some inspiration for you as Halloween nears. These avant-garde nails are by Rochelle Dingman, Shear Fashion Salon, San Jose, CA and they were part of a collection which won her Nail Professional Artist of the Year at NAHA for 2017. The nails and whole look were inspired by “Game of Thrones, ” makeup by Phoebe Dingham.

Avant Garde Makeup Winner - 2017

As Halloween nears, here is some inspiration for you. This avant-garde makeup is by Florencia Taylor. It was one of many amazing great looks in her collection which won the Canadian from London, Ontario, the Makeup Artist of the Year Award for 2017 at NAHA (North American Hairstyling Awards.)   Her great makeup also wowed on the hair by Julie Vriesinga of Salon Entrenous who did the hair in this photo, and was a Finalist in the Hairstylist of the Year category.

Pastel Mint Hair is Sewn @ Intercoiffure - 2017

This is the pastel mint colored hair by Sharon Blain, the Australian Whirlwind Hair Art Educator who wowed them again at the Intercoiffure America Canada Fall Atelier for 2017. Sharon Blain likes to “sew” her hair with nylon invisible thread, This hair was meticulously sewn with the thread to secure here and there, not pins, and a macramé knotted hair cap was placed on top of the head.
