Happy New Year with this 1975 LaCoupe one-length classic bob by Kim Lepine.   Angel Curls curled on tiny tongs, thin, like a pencil, at the ends of the bob – bottoms up!  The color was a gorgeous L’Oréal Mandarin/Mango shade, so new then it had to be flown into to the US for the New York shoot.   For more Hair History and details, CLICK HERE

Happy Holidays Balloon Illustration - 1991

Wishing you all Happy Holidays with this George Karkoulas Balloon Illustration he sent to me in 1991. He visualized tiny balloons all over the head.  The original was colorful, but I have taken the liberty of manipulating and colorizing it with PhotoShop to just reds.  George said he trusted me.  To see more one of a kind WorldGreat Karkoulas hair illustrations for the ages, CLICK HERE

Veil Re-Envisioned As Hair Accessory– 2017

Photo: John Rawson

A veil of hair highlights made of extensions acts like a fringe and was placed over an elegant ponytail knotted and looped on top of the head. “The updo re-envisions the veil as a hair accessory,” according to Silas & Dorothy Tsang of Blushes in Canada, who said the hairstyling play on texture was inspired by the fashion designer Issey Miyake – “When Modernism Meets Tradition.” This and two other inspirational holiday hair looks by the Canadians made the first page of my column in the December issue of Peluquerias Magazine.

Favorite Brooches On Holiday Hair – 2017

Photo: Matthew Holler

It’s holiday time, and time to dress hair. Do as Cheyanne Clark does. She is obsessed with hair accessories and pins her own decorative brooches to her hair, as here on this naturally curly textured hair which was redefined with a 1″ curling iron, each curl pinned and cooled, a low ponytail at the back and her favorite brooch added. She also likes to add her earrings as well as brooches sometimes, all one one head.  This is one of three fab looks published in my Peluquerias Magazine December 2017 column with a full page. You can find her on Instagram @cheyanne_hair as I did, also on www. CheyanneClark.com/

Botticelli, the early Renaissance Italian painter (1445-1510) has inspired many great hair looks, but perhaps never one quite like this wonderful romantic lilac hair with a knotted macramé hair cap by that Australian whirlwind, Sharon Blain. The Hair Art Educator, famous for her Boot Camps, took endless hours to create and perfect this inspirational look – one of many stunning styles she wowed with at the Intercoiffure America Canada Fall Atelier for 2017 held in New York, which resulted in two pages published in the December issue of Spain’s Peluquerias Magazine.   Stay tuned for more …

Photo: Fred J. DeVito

Seen on Scene, Fab Fashionista, Patricia Fox @purelypatricia who is photographed in the front row of the Academy of Art New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2018.  The New York assemblage artist/interior designer/style collaborator is wearing a red wire ornament on her head, manipulated and configured to what she calls a “Head Whimsey,” which was published internationally with a full page in the December issue of  Spain’s Peluquerias Magazine. She is wearing a jacket from Janette Platinum, ’80s vintage plastic cascade earrings, both from her private collection.  As to those eyebrows: “I am my own style, and do my own makeup – the blue eyebrows are an extension of myself. Brown brows are boring!” said the fashion inspirer. For more Patricia and more Fab Fashionistas, CLICK HERE
