Selfies My Haircut & After 11 Weeks - 2020

Selfie Photos by Helen Oppenheim

Helen Oppenheim Selfies. Helen haircut January 29 on the left, and on April 17, 2020. Due to the virus,  I cut my own bangs, did my own blow dry and color on the 11 week haircut by the one and only Edward Tricomi, co-owner of the Warren-Tricomi Salons I am amazed my hair looks so good after all this time, but don’t think it suits me longer, especially since I lost 8 lbs the last few weeks!   But, thanks, Edward, miss you, can’t wait to sit your chair again …

Rare Vidal Sassoon Mystery Solved – 1979

Rare Vidal Sassoon Mystery Solved – 1979

Photo: Unknown

This rare Vidal Sassoon photo was part of the 1979 Soft Cubism Collection. The hairstyle was inspired by Marlene Dietrich in the 1931 movie “Dishonored” and it was a Modern Marlene version which is a mystery. It was created for a magazine in Los Angeles but the name of the hairdresser, the makeup artist, the model, the photographer and the magazine are unknown. It is the same dress, and accessories as we used in  the collection, so I must have sent them to LA.  The mystery deepens the more I think of it.  If anyone knows who did the hair or any other people involved, please tell. The hair, the model, the photo, everything is lovely.  To see more of the Soft Cubism/Modern Marlene photos, and the original Marlene Dietrich photo, CLICK HERE

UPDATE.  The hairdresser was Graham Wren, International Art Director of Vidal Sassoon, NY at the time.  The model from this 1979 photo just contacted me after seeing this blog archived on my website – in March 2020.  Her name was Samantha Jones.  And here is what she said: “Hello. I have such wonderful memories about my time with you all. Thank you for my 15 minutes of fame. I was so thrilled when I saw that picture. The name I used then was Samantha Jones.
Sincerely   Samantha Severance

Color Your Roots The Easy Way @ Home - 2020

Video by Sherri Jessee

This YouTube Video with Covid Kit Instructions by Sherri Jessee, one of many she has produced on hair and makeup, shows you how to color your roots the easy way at home.  Of course, unless you are a lucky client of the Sherri Jessee Hair Salon in Virginia, you will need to ask your own hair colorist to be kind enough to send you your formula and a hair color brush, or to tell  you where you can purchase your color, developer and a brush.  But hoping you have a caring colorist, here is what you can do, step by step with many details how to do this.  For How To, CLICK BELOW

The alternatives are spray on or dust on a temporary hair color cover, which will last until you shampoo your hair.  I use Color Wow Root Cover Up, which is easy to apply.
