Eighth in a series featuring the talent in action working on photos in the Archives.
Antonio da Costa Rocha, The King of Chignons, was beloved by the society ladies and major press in New York and before that in Montreal. The Portuguese-born hairdresser, always an original, created chignons like no one else. Before he sadly passed away, far too young, he even published a book, on poetry.
Here, he is concentrating as he worked on his Swim Knot in 1977. (The photo was sent to me by the model, Oksana Dykyj, in 2013. ) One image from this Collection was featured in Italian Vogue, albeit small, but there!
