This is Japanese-born fashion designer Maiko Takeda wearing one of her stunning “Atmospheric Reentry” headpieces at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Press Event for the Costume Institute’s Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology exhibition. Some of her amazing designs are in the amazing exhibition, which runs through August 14, 2016.   Bottom left, Maiko Takeda shows the inside of her spiky headpiece, which, she says is “an ethereal experience.” It is assembled with thin Perspex discs, acrylic squares, all hand-assembled with small silver metal jump rings.  To see one of her designs in the exhibition, click HERE  and to see another tdf version of the headpiece, check out her website, click maikotakeda.com
