Boudoir Hair, A Curly Gamine - 1987

Photo: Geoffrey Hargrave-Thomas

Another romantic feeling from La Coupe New York – in 1987.  A gamine short soft look for those with curly hair.  And it could be worn today.  From the Boudoir Hair Collection.

La Coupe introduced The New Curl and Kim Lepine, International Design Director, predicted:  “The New Direction is small heads, closer to the head, with soft “V” backs.”    For much more (close-up, sideview, backview and tutorials) go to HairThen, 80s Hair, Boudoir Hair on www.helenoppenheim.com

That was the idea, Every time anyone heard Grieg’s Mornning (Peer Gynt) they’d remember. I’m happy you remember, even now! Same for Tara (Gone with the Wind music) and Dancing Hair (Fred and Ginger dancing Cheek to Cheek in Top Hat.) Did you check the clip under Photo 4 on Dancing Hair here? I still have the videos for all three, somewhere.

Everytime I hear Grieg’s “Morning” I remember the show you produced in Texas (I think) where the music was played as our “Sleeper” slowly rose from her bed, still get a tingle, beautiful, class, gorgeous, hairdressers were gobsmacked, another La Coupe show triumph, thanks Helen.
