Chic Chignon, Scattered Antique Pins – 2009

Photos: © Helen Oppenheim

Love this idea by Orlando Pita of Orlo Salon in NYC, who scattered antique 18th century copper flower and bobby pins in clusters on the back of this chic chignon for the Fall/Winter 2009 Carolina Herrera Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week Show.  They may look haphazard but the embellishments were brilliantly lined up and placed just so.  The designer also decorated her fashions and shoes with the copper flower pins, as can be seen on my Peluquerias Magazine page.  For more from this great show, go to NY Fashion Week, Fall 2009 on www.helenoppenheim.com

Thank you, Mary. Orlando was brilliant with this chic chignon but I do suspect
Carolina Herrera the designer probably found the pins, gave them to him, the
person who made the shoes, and added them to some of here fab fashions.

I remember this and thinking it was such a brilliant idea… and the way Orlando matched them to the shoes too… I love it…very cool!
