Deborah Turbeville - 1932-2013

Deborah Turbeville, a famous Fashion Photographer I always admired tremendously for her unique haunting images passed away yesterday. RIP, Deborah Turbeville.  Her most famous photographs were from the 1975 Vogue swimsuit series with Diana Vreeland.  I loved what the New York Times calls “her dreamlike, melancholy beautiful images  … often dark, brooding with a sensual strangeness … in faded colors or sepia tones.”  Here is one of her manipulated , distressed images, with hair by Edward Tricomi, Warren-Tricomi Salons.  He worked with her on most of her famous images and her many books.    For two more Turbeville’s go to WorldGreats, Edward Tricomi on www.helenoppenheim.com
