Ritz Wrapz - 1979

Photo: © Lorraine Sylvestre

1979.  Ritz Wrapz by Antonio da Costa Rocha, La Coupe.  Long hair was wrapped with ritzy wired fabrics. Big success for La Coupe, who offered them in gold, silver, black, white, red, pink, blue, green, yellow and more.  Vogue did an article on this original idea, giving detailed instructions how-to, another version made a WWD cover. Loved this then and still love it now.. Everytime I see this photo, I want someone to do it to my hair. It is sophisticated, simple and glamorous – all at the same time…

Thanks, Toni. Yes, me too, love the idea. We struggled to make them work and the photo
session, started at 8 pm, ended at 5 am! It was all worth it.
