Chic Hair Look Inspired by Soft Cubism – 1979

Photo: © Lorraine Sylvestre

From Vidal Sassoon’s 1979 Soft Cubism collection, this Sassooning for Evening chic look by Avram of Vidal Sassoon. NY, was inspired by the graphics of cubism.  The snake charmer of black plexi waves diagonally through the hair. A veil tilts over one eye, at a rakish angle, asymmetrically. Rhinestones add glimmer and glitter. The glamorous hair is rolled under and forward to frame and flatter the face with an asymmetric rolled under fringe slanting up an don the forehead ending in a futuristic feather affect. Yes, this and the other one made with false hair. The hairstyle could be different, of course, and the veil bigger for some styles.

I see Helen. The snake idea could work for Sir Ivan’s Adam and Eve theme.
