On A Roll, Carolina Herrera – Fall 2013
For Carolina Herrars’s Fall 2013 NY Fashion Week show, Orlando Pita, Orlo Salon, designed sleek mid-parted styles – elegant hair rolls designed close to the head, tightly coiled, wider at the front.
The modern, graphic 40s-inpsired styles went with the many high necks in the fabulous show. The fashions were for today’s dressed-up woman with fur details on the sleeves, waists, necks, dresses, everywhere – all worn with flirty skirt movements and red lips by Diane Kendal for Mac. CommentForties On A Roll – 1992
Forties on a roll, a big squashy pageboy roll at the ends – for nostalgics who want to look retro yet modern. La Coupe’s Kim Lepine was inspired by Vivien Leigh in the early forties, at the time she accepted the Oscar for her legendary role as Scarlett O’Hara in the movie “Gone With The Wind.” The model, Carol, Dlugos, who looked like Vivien Leigh, also “played” her in La Coupe’s Tara Collection.
