Strong Statement Chignon @ AAU NYFW – 2018
The hair, for each of the designers at the Academy of Art University (AAU) Spring/Summer 2018 New York Fashion Week Show, was “modern, graphic, geometric and strong,” said Jon Reyman of his statement chignon flying straight out to there, and wrapped in silver wires. It was refreshing to see hair which is not messy for a change, that was distinctive, beautifully executed, and went with all the fashions by the talented graduating students from AAU’s School of Fashion. CommentPurely Patricia Head Whimsey NYFW – 2018
Seen on Scene, Fab Fashionista, Patricia Fox @purelypatricia who is photographed in the front row of the Academy of Art New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2018. The New York assemblage artist/interior designer/style collaborator is wearing a red wire ornament on her head, manipulated and configured to what she calls a “Head Whimsey,” which was published internationally with a full page in the December issue of Spain’s Peluquerias Magazine. She is wearing a jacket from Janette Platinum, ’80s vintage plastic cascade earrings, both from her private collection. As to those eyebrows: “I am my own style, and do my own makeup – the blue eyebrows are an extension of myself. Brown brows are boring!” said the fashion inspirer. CommentMessy Crocheted Hair NY Fashion Week – 2014
Messy Crocheted Hair by jon Reyman for Aveda made a statement at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University School of Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week for Fall 2014. Six lucky graduating students showed their work with this great hair idea. The great yellow coat is by Jaci Hodges and Nisha Hanna Btesh. Here, yarn is being crocheted through the hair which included corn rows at the sides and back, a fish tail braid, all wrapped up with red or other colors threaded here and there.
