Short Hair Cuts With Style – 2018
Two short hair cuts with style for those with style, by Ammon Carver, Ammon Carver Studio, NYC, a Finalist in the Hair Cutting Category of the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) for 2018. These photos got two pages in the June issue of Peluquerias Magazine. The hair on the left is a short cut, finished with panache. But it can also be worn classic casual. The style on the right is for the avant-garde but it is versatile and can be styled less avant-garde! It is easy to forget in this day of long hair with everyone looking the same, that a short hair cut can give someone personality – it can also be worn this way and that. And it should also be remembered that not everyone can cut short hair as well as they should! The Winners for NAHA will be announced in Las Vegas on July 29. Stay tuned …

CommentGorgeous Gowns Beautiful Brides – Fall 2017
Gorgeous glam gowns at Idan Cohen’s New York Bridal Fashion Week Show for Fall 2017 were seductive, sexy, most for confident brides. The gowns were often highly ornate, with intricate beading and embroidery, some with interesting appliqué details here and there. The natural-looking hairstyles, by Ammon Carver, L’Anza, had waved accents around the face with a few strands flowing freely at the front, hair draped gently over the ears, deconstructed in texture at the back of a low pony caught elegantly at the nape of the neck. Some wore jeweled headbands and tiaras, by Justine M. Couture. For more amazing bridal gowns and inspiration, click HERE

CommentNAHA. Knitted, Quilted Hair – 2016
“The hair here was inspired by knitting with quilted textures, so on trend in the fashion world right now,” says Ammon Carver, Ammon Carver Studio, of this short, tufted look created on long hair to look like short hair, one of his looks nominated in the Texture category for the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA.) “The best thing about this is that you can do the knitted technique in specific areas of the head, or all over the head, like here.” He started by smoothing the hair back, then applied netting over the hair, securing the edges with clips. Using a crochet hook, beginning at the front, he pulled loops through the netting, worked his way back towards the nape, securing the netting with pins. “The technique takes on a unique “undone” texture every time, never looking exactly the same twice,” says the innovative hairstylist, who is the L’Anza Global Creative Director, and was nominated in many categories, for NAHA 2016. Congratulations, Ammon. You should win at least one award. The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) event takes place July 24th in Las Vegas. Beauty Professionals, purchase tickets HERE
