The New York Fashion Week Meike Fall Winter 2024 collection was entitled “The Heist”. The designer, Emma Gage, was inspired by the mischievous beloved claymation series Wallace and Gromit, her most adored childhood film personalities. She created a world of adventures which harmonized humor and craftsmanship.
There were three hair looks by Britt Dion for Aveda. The Bubble Braid, Mehndi/Mayon style (Pakistani bridal gowns) and Natural looks. The makeup by Michelle Webb for Augment Tokyo, included flirty, feminine, heavy eyes, soft, lived in looks, full lips and cheeks blushed. The chic back braided hair at the Naeem Kahn New York Fashion Week Show for Spring/Summer 2024 was by Jon Reyman for Aveda. The braids complimented the designer’s vision with a fusion of Indian heritage and high fashion achieved with artistry.
The theme for the elegant show was “To India With Love” – a heartfelt homage to the colors, culture, and craftsmanship of India which inspired the vibrant tapestry of Naeem Kahn’s homeland where beauty and diversity, tradition and innovation intertwined seamlessly on the runway – a true marriage between East and West. Jon Reyman’s hair for the Supima New York Fashion Week Show for Spring Summer 2024 was curled, natural, long, flowing. Updos were braided, or froths of curls. The faces by Fawn Monique featured cool rich colors – a Bronze eyeshadow, a Brick eyeliner, a Pink Beige Nude lip.

The hair at the Love Shack Fancy New York Fashion Week Show was by Jon Reyman for Aveda. It was ethereal, romantic, superfeminine, and whimsical, as were the fashions.
There were three hair looks – natural, ponytail, or braided. As with the fabulous fashions, there were plenty of beautiful bows, of all sizes, from big squashy ones with embroidery, (see photos to the right) to small bows scattered here and there, some entwined in the braided hair, others bow tied at the ends, ribbons dangling, some just capturing long hair at the back. Hats off to Jon Reyman and his team.
The faces (see bottom left) by Amy Conway for Bobbi Brown were “pretty, ethereal, with fresh skin, a child-like blush on the apple of the cheek, a soft glow on the eye.”

As so many people aren’t going to salons, or going less often, finding ways to dress up hair in need of a cut can be important every now and then for the stylish. Here’s one idea. Add a ton of bobby pins to make a hair design. This is what Aveda’s Jon Reyman did on sleek wet hair for models of both sexes at the Fashion Hong Kong New York Fashion Week Show Fall/Winter 2020, designer Harrison Wong. Some 50 to 100 bobby pins were used on each head, but the idea would work with less. Have fun …
