CommentTropical Fashions @ Badgley Mischka – 2020
The florals, the flowers, the leaves with graphic poppies and palm shades, all looked refreshingly stylish at the Badgley Mischka Spring 2020 New York Fashion Week Show at Spring Studios.. They gave a tropical feel to the ruffled swimsuits, the shoes, the bags and the hand made in Italy fabrics on some divine dresses. The inspiration was American Glam, elegance in the ’30s and ’40s, which took place as movie stars like Hollywood ‘s Claudette Colbert took vacations in the Barbados. Call it Caribbean chic.

Romantic Badgley Mischka NYFW- 2019
Gorgeous makeup and hair from the Badgley Mischa New York Fashion Week Spring 2019 Show held at Spring Studios. This was a beautiful, romantic Badgley Mischka 30th Anniversary Show with breathtaking jewelry and fashions. The hair theme was Alice’s Wonderland (stay tuned) but we also love this stunning Fro Chic look. The makeup, by Carly Giglio for Stila Cosmetics, focused on the eyes, which shimmered and glowed with “Suede” and”Velour plus “Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow” topped with “Mythical” in the center of the eye to add a pop of illumination.

CommentDouble French Twist Hair @ NYFW – 2018
The hair at the Badgley Mischka Fall 2018 New York Fashion Week Show was a modern take on the classic French twist – “a small simple shape achieved with a double twist,” said Peter Gray who created the hair using NuMe. “Twist one way, then the other,” advised the hairdresser, who said he didn’t use many pins, about 6 to 8 and that he sprayed onto the brush, not straight into the hair. The fashions were inspired by Caravaggio, the Italian painter (1571-1610) – he had an influence on Baroque paintings, which can be seen in the fashion details. For more on this show, CLICK HERE

CommentLong Lasting Hair Crimps – 2012-2016
Crimps in the hair are long lasting. They last longer than curls and waves ironed or set in. Crimps are also fun stuff. Hairdressers love doing them. And they do so for many fashion shows, as seen here photographed backstage at New York Fashion Week Shows from 2012 – 2016. Why more mere mortals and celebs don’t wear them much is something to think about.
Top Row Left to Right: Edward Tricomi teasing and crimping for a high life at Douglas Hannant 2012 … Tricomi’s finished High Life with strategic crimps here and there … Crimped human hair extension by Sherri Jessee, Intercoiffure 2013 … Jessee’s finished half up/half down Wild West style which is micro-crimped with the extensions added.
