Cadette Chignon – 1978
REMEMBERING ALL WHO SERVED ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
The Cadette Chignon was designed for an Armani fashion show in Toronto, by La Coupe, in 1978. It was worn with hair half up, half down, or all up. Jerome Pinsonneault, George Karkoulas and La Coupe’s staff made khaki-colored, satin-covered forms and the hair was tucked under, with an Armani medal added at the front. VEIL WITH HAIR HAT CHIGNON, LA COUPE TORONTO – 1978
The veils worn with hats in the 2012 movie version of “Anna Karenina” are so beautiful they could set a fashion trend. In 1978, a black veil with a feather was added to La Coupe’s Cadette Chignon, a hair hat chignon for a drop dead chic look.
This unique chignon with a veil added was designed by Jerome Pinsonneault of La Coupe for an Armani fashion show in Toronto, and was worn with hair all up or, as here, with hair half up and half down. Nothing like it had been done before. For more, full credits and how to make your own, go to Hair/Then, La Coupe, 70s, Hat Chignons on www.helenoppenheim.com
