“Beauty follows health,” advises Gay Dering, Beauty Kasbah Salon of her “Goddess of Health and Beauty” created at the Modern Artist Session. Underneath all these veggies is a Styrofoam form, added with Velcro to a large pad to form the shape. Hair extensions were used to cover most of this form and mixed with the model’s own hair flowing down in loose waves. The heaviest vegetables were attached using armature wire and the rest pinned on. A modern bridal look inspired by a vintage bride and some classic ’40s shapes, by Gay Dering, Beauty Kasbah. “The hair in the back was placed into an asymmetrical pony that was then shaped into a large smooth roll,” said the hairdresser, who rolled and pinned the opposite front side to allow some loose curls to fall forward.
