Ginger Rogers Inspired Dancing Hair – 1986

Dancing Hair, the iconic 1986 La Coupe Collection, was inspired by Ginger Rogers dancing with Fred Astaire in the famously romantic 1935 movie, “Top Hat.” This hair by the King of Chic Chignons, Antonio da Costa Rocha, couldn’t be more elegant, more romantic or more flattering. It’s not just a braid wrapped around the head. To see more versions and how to do it, click here:

These Dancing Hair styles by Antonio da Costa Rocha of La Coupe, created in 1986, are Harold Leighton’s “Oscar predictions and inspiration for 2013” – as in his full page article “The Revival of Hollywood Glamour” in The Epoque Times. Here is the link:

The hair was inspired by Ginger Rogers in the 1935 movie “Top Hat” as she danced romantically with Fred Astaire – see a clip from the movie and more photos from this Collection – go to HairThen, 80s, Dancing Hair, on www.helenoppenheim.com

Sadly, the paper credited the photos to another photographer instead of Geoffrey Hargrave-Thomas, nor did they give credits to all who made these stunning photos possible. Here they are:
