CommentHarry King, WorldGreat – 1976
Harry King described this 1976 hair cut on Yolande Gilot for GQ Magazine as “a revolutionary haircut.”
“I cut Yolande’s hair off, many different lengths. No one had ever cut hair this way before,” he said. “It wasn’t cut in the conventional way, apart from taking sections from the back and working forward. Within my sections, I cut into the hair, not the ends, cutting in all directions and lengths.” This short, flattering haircut is very modern and wearable today, even though it was done in the seventies. CommentShort Curly Fuss-Free Hair – 1976
This stunning short curly fuss-free hair by Harry King was created in 1976 but it is as modern today as it was way back then. At the time “it was a revolutionary haircut because it was cut in many different lengths and no one had ever cut hair this way before,” said Harry King, the king of big sexy hair with over 100 Cosmopolitan covers to his credit. CommentBig Beautiful Bow – 1982
Repost. Because this is so lovely. Wrap it up in a big beautiful bow as WorldGreat Harry King did with the big teased-to-there hair on lovely model Nancy Donahue for British Vogue, in 1982.
Vogue said the glorious smock was gold, the velvet leggings jet banded mink. Really, all this works today, the hair and the fashions. Just as the friendship between the hairdresser and the model does; they are the best of friends all these years after this great photo was taken (in Loulou de la Falaise’s Paris apartment.) CommentDebbie Harry Hair by Harry King – 1979
An Iconic cover of Debbie Harry with hair by Harry King. In 1979, when this Interview Magazine cover appeared, Harry King remembers there was a huge party at Studio 54 for the issue featuring the great singer/songwriter of the punk rock and new wave band Blondie. For more Harry King, CLICK HERE

CommentSisters, Short Hair by Harry King – 1981
Harry King was famous for his teased up to there Big Hair, seen on over a hundred covers of the world’s major magazines. But he could also cut a cool short look. As here on the sisters and international beauties Tina Chow (a fashion icon) and Adelle Lutz for Harper’s Bazaar in 1981. “When they showed up for the shoot, Adelle had long hair, but not for long,” remembered the King. “I chopped it off.” For more by WorldGreat Harry King, click HERE
