Fabulous "Bridgerton" Masks & Wig – 2026

Photos by Helen Oppenheim. Netflix. Collage:helenoppenheim.com

Sophie’s mask in Episode 1, Season 4 of “Bridgerton” was romantically fabulous and Queen Charlotte’s wigs as outrageous as ever.  Her Season 4 wigs include hidden meanings, such as orchids representing fertility and “two love birds” signaling her enduring love for King George.

This season, Nic Collins is the hair and makeup designer responsible for the intricate, period-inspired hairstyles and wigs featured in the series. She works alongside a team to create the elaborate looks for the cast. The styling includes detailed looks, such as those worn by Francesca and the Wicked Stepmother (bottom left) and all the intricate, mask-friendly styles for the season’s marvelous Masquerade Ball for which 160 custom wigs were created to match the “eclectic” and “fanciful” theme of the event.  Specific characters, such as Ruth Gemmell (Lady Bridgerton), had hair styled by artists like Adam Cooke, and for earlier seasons, Marc Pilcher was the designer (Season 1 being the best for the hair.)   For the show’s lead, Yerin Ha (Sophie) Collins created a viral “bright pink” stained lip using three layers at the Masquerade Ball.

Love “Bridgerton, the Regency fashions, for her and him, the male lead this season, Benedict (Luke Thompson) and the way desire builds, as it has in every season.  It is all so well done, unlike any other tv series.  No wonder the Netflix tv series is so popular.   Congratulations to Shonda Rhimes and Shondaland. I just wish the 8 part series was not split in two, and we have to wait almost month (February 26) to see the  more episodes …

Golden Globes 2026 Hair Fashion Best in Years

Photos Helen Oppenheim, thanks to CBS-TV & E-TV. Collage helenoppenheim.com

The hair and the fashions at The Golden Globes in 2026 were the best in years.  I usually moan, especially about the boring hair.  This year was more fun, with more inspo.  The most amazing being Audrey Nuna, with a loopy updo by Antoine Martinez, great gothic makeup by Ashley Sabelle, a veil,  which was coordinated with Ejae’s high-knotted sculptured hair by Mark Alan    Teyana Taylor ‘s betty boop pixie by Nikki Neims with“maximalist” makeup by Bella Mayven was a stand-out, as she was!   Here are just some of the best looks at the 83rd Golden Globes:

Padina Bondar Exhibit @ National Arts Club

Padina Bondar Exhibit @ National Arts Club

Photos Helen Oppenheim. Collage helenoppenheim.com

Padina Bondar, an eco-conscious, hybrid designer, artist and activist known for transforming plastic waste into extraordinary couture fashion, textiles and designs, is currently featured in an exhibition at The National Arts Club in New York City, running from December 3 to January 2, 2026

The must-see exhibition, made possible by DTR Modern Gallery, showcases her sustainable art, designs and embellishments.   Her work like the bobbin lace from plastic bags found on the streets of Manhattan, highlights environmental responsibility and reimagines luxury through ethical craftsmanship, challenging norms and inviting dialogue about our planet’s future. “The Fashion industry,”she says “is a leading environmental pollutant” and she aims to shed light on the mountain of waste and injustice beneath the glamourous facade of the industry.

“Changing The World One Plastic Bag at a Time” also showcases sustainable jewelry, like everything in the exhibition combining design with social consciousness. The idea of design as a revolutionary activity reminds one of Bauhaus, the early 20th century German art school.

Padina Bondar was born in Tehran, raised in Toronto, and now lives in NYC.  Her passion and perspective are the results of cultural juxtapositions.  She is a CFDA Scholar (2021) and has an MFA from Parsons (2022)

Rachel Antonoff and Susan Alexandra’s New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2026 presented a “Best in Show” dog and fashion event featuring human models walking the runway with adoptable dogs from the Animal Haven Rescue, showcasing the designers’ playful, dog-inspired pieces.

Rachel Antonoff’s collection featured flamboyant prints and motifs, such as postcard patchworks, stripes, and houndstooth.

Susan Alexandra’s accessories featured colorful, beaded accessories, heavily themed around dogs. Included were beaded leashes, collars, and dog-shaped bags.

The hair by Linh Nguyen for Cutler Salon was full and bouncy. The faces by Brianna Chin for Glamsquad had a ‘60s and ‘90s influence, with lips a wash of glossy colors, reds and berries.

The witty, whimsical, fun show for a good cause took place at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, with celebs including Christina Hendricks of “Mad Men” fame and Edie Falco of “The Sopranos” walking the runway with the cute adoptable dogs.  Galadriel, a 7 year old rat terrier mix, won the top prize and was adopted after winning by his handler, Edie Falco.
