Sparkle With Jewelry In Your Hair – 1993

It can be so easy to dress up your hair for the holiday season, whatever the style, length or texture.   Here’s an idea, from 1993, which will never date.  Three sparkling mis-matched rhinestone barrettes were strategically placed on a glam pageboy. But the look can also work beautifully with your Grandmother’s antique brooches, bobby-pinned on securely.

This idea, by Charles Booth, owner of La Coupe Salons at the time,  was one of many created at La Coupe’s famous creative evening.  He went into action way after midnight, his first hairstyle in 8 years!   For many more great holiday ideas like this by the talented hairdressers at the Creative Evening, click HERE

A hair holiday idea – breathtakingly simple, so chic. An antique rhinestone belt buckle from the ’30s, which belonged to my Mother, decorates a simple bob. But could work with almost any hairstyle.   By Kim Lepine, created at La Coupe’s now famous Creative Evening in 1993, which ended at 2.30 am with some great hair inspiration, easy to do, easy to wear, La Coupe-style. The photos earned full pages in magazines all over the world.   For more holiday ideas from the evening, click here:

A Jeweled Pin Decorates Divine Chignon - 1993

A jeweled pin delicately decorates a divine chignon with hair twisted low on the nape and tender tendrils curling softly and romantically on the cheek.

The hair was by Pegi Palagate for La Coupe’s iconic Creative Evening in 1993 when all the hair  talent created hairstyles for the holiday season with their usual touches of class – all wearable, interesting and timeless, La Coupe-style.

Photographer David Webber captured all the hair ideas so beautifully, and it is amazing to me that we could accomplish so much so well for so many. I am very proud of this look and all the hair created for this special evening. For more beautiful holiday ideas, click here:

From the 1978 Hat Chignon Collection, this stunning and original hair idea by the one and only Antonio da Costa Rocha of La Coupe was inspired by Pillbox Hats.  Here’s a unique hair idea for all of you, just in time for the Holidays. It was created on very long, all-one-length hair – with no pins. The chignon innovator shows how it was done and you can see other versions, by clicking here:
