Hair Crimping Magic, NYFW Fall - 2016

For the Naeem Khan Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week Show, Jon Reyman created hair crimping magic. First he sprayed on each section of hair, then crimped and 1/2″ curled opposite sections horizontally, brushed it out, then backcombed, shaped and pinned to style. The crimped hair, before it was brushed out, looked like something wonderful and could be a futuristic hair style all on it own. Or is it an 18th Century modern look? Cooked Wet-Looking Mashed Hair – 2016

The hair, by Jon Reyman, Aveda, for the Academy of Art University School of Fashion New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2016 was cooked, wet-looking “dirty” hair. It felt stiff and sticky, swirled and mashed around the top of the head, the back left long. All had a wet look which was not wet, a Jon Reyman signature style. A wig cap was used to “cook” the hair with a flat set, more hair, fashions, shoes, click HERE

Aveda’s Jon Reyman played his cards right at the Academy of Art University School of Fashion Show for Fall 2015.   He invented a sleek samurai warrior hair loop which went with the fashions of 10 collections presented by 15 designers. The hair was center sectioned with very straight partings and flat ironed. Seen here Mac makeup artist Victor Cambellin in action. And the cards? Just a fun way to protect the clips from making marks, For more versions and fashions, click HERE

Gothic Pretty Hair, Loose Knot, Grey Lights – 2015

The hair at the Nicholas K New York Fashion Week Show for Fall 2015 was gothic pretty, with grey lights here and there, a loose knot to one side, some hair cut shorter at the front, where the hair was draped to one side. Jon Reyman of Aveda said “the hair was dirtied up.” By that he meant it was messed up a bit.   For more versions and details, click HERE

Keep Warm With Nicholas K Fashions – 2014

One of two pages in Peluquerias Magazine featuring warm fashions for harsh weather, from the Nicholas K Collection shown at the Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week show for Fall 2014. There was a sea theme for the loose, layered, multi-functional urban warriors and I love they showed practical fashionable ideas to keep both sexes warm from top to toe for rotten weather, as it was the week they showed their fab fashions.

The hair, by Jon Reyman for Aveda, had a strong asymmetric geometric look and can be seen in more detail, along with innovative wearable makeup by Lauren Andersen for Avon, if you click here:

Messy Crocheted Hair NY Fashion Week - 2014

Photos: Helen Oppenheim

Messy Crocheted Hair by jon Reyman for Aveda made a statement at San Francisco’s Academy of Art University School of Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week for Fall 2014.   Six lucky graduating students showed their work with this great hair idea. The great yellow coat is by Jaci Hodges and Nisha Hanna Btesh. Here, yarn is being crocheted through the hair which included corn rows at the sides and back, a fish tail braid, all wrapped up with red or other colors threaded here and there.
