Rei Kawakakubo is coming to The Metropolitan Museum of Art with 150 of her controversial always inspirational designs for Comme des Garçons. The Costume Institute’s Spring 2017 Exhibition, Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between, sponsored by Condé Nast, with Anna Wintour’s discerning eye much in evidence. and curated by my favorite Curator, Andrew Bolton, is from May 4 to September 4.  Heads and wigs will be created and styled by my favorite Met Museum hair genius, Julien D’Ys.    “The modes of expression that have always been the most important to me are fusion … imbalance … unfinished … elimination … and absence of intent,” said Japanese-born Rei Kawakubo, who always asks us to think differently, and is one the most important and influential designers of the past 40 years.  Make a note. Stay tuned …  Meanwhile, check on past Met Museum exhibitions archived on the website, click HERE
