My Mother On Her Wedding Day – 1930s
I am thinking of my Mother today, May 19, the day I lost her many moons ago. She was always there for me when I was young and I was lucky to have had her. I wish I could tell her so today. This photo was taken of my Mother on her wedding day, in the 30s. Her divine dress was made of silver lamé and she made it herself. I still have the pattern she used and some of the lamé somewhere. I have a large photo of this and a similar large photo hand tinted. To see more of the wedding, CLICK HERE

CommentMy Parents, Wedding Photo – 1935
I have just put up a new album with photos of my Mother from Age 1 – 30. Click to see – https://www.helenoppenheim.com/thisthat/those-close-2/ My Mother’s hair was marcel-waved, the dress was made of silver lamé and she made it herself. I still have some of the silver lamé. My Father looks very elegant too. And look at those beautiful flowers, also the art deco background of the photo by Boris. They danced the music of “Always” and it was.
CommentMy Mother And Her Waved Hair – 1935
This is my Mother. Her hair was beautifully waved, and blonde! I found out later, by chance, after she had passed away, that she modeled for a beauty salon. I often wondered about her great waves and very professional photos, large and small. She never told me, even though she knew I worked in the hair biz for decades! Now, as I look at her early photos like this, before her marriage to my Father, I know I am going to make an album of her early photos, and post them on this website. Her wedding dress alone is something to behold but even her baby photo is something extraordinary. Stay tuned …
