Musical Hair: Waif With “Sax” Appeal – 1992

Making music in 1992 were waifs and gamines, also called urchins and short shags. They struck the right note then. And they do now. This lyrical waif by La Coupe’s Kim Lepine had “sax” appeal and itsy-bitsy flicks flicking here and there. The fringe, a bit uneven, was short with soft pieces. The ends had slight movements and the style was finger-combed in place. “The key,” said Kim Lepine, “was to have shortness and softness at the same time and not look look a choppy mess or too masculine.
