Punk, Graffitti, Grunge Heads Ahead – 2016
“Grunge Meets Street,” said Peter Gray about his avant-garde hair at Nicopanda’s Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week Presentation for Fall 2016. For the red punked hair, right, Gray used a red wash-out pure pigment chalk by Blick Art on what left on top of an almost shaved head . The Nicopanda designer, Nicola Formichetti, is seen in action backstage, bottom left, using a collection of MAC eyeliner pencils to create the graffiti at the back of the head. The barrettes by TIGI for the Libertine New York Fashion Week Fall 2016 show came in pops of color, shapes and sizes and we can expect to see this fun spot on idea catch on. “The hair,” said Thomas Osborn, TIGI’s US Session and Creative Director, “was an untroubled chic look that included a messy one-sided braid with a natural texture on the other side and the whimsical barrettes decorating the heads here and there, randomly at the back.” Brilliant.
