The hair, for each of the designers at the Academy of Art University (AAU) Spring/Summer 2018 New York Fashion Week Show, was “modern, graphic, geometric and strong,” said Jon Reyman of his statement chignon flying straight out to there, and wrapped in silver wires. It was refreshing to see hair which is not messy for a change, that was distinctive, beautifully executed, and went with all the fashions by the talented graduating students from AAU’s School of Fashion. Here is something simple, stylish and super at the same time. Crimping in just one area at the back of straight one-length hair. “The crimping compliments and contrasts the vertical pleats in the collection which inspired the horizontal crimping,” said Marco Vogt backstage at the Julianna Bass New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2018 which featured some wearable technology fashions, subtle and exciting, just like the hair.  For more hair and fashions from this show, CLICK HERE

Lovely Model Reading A Book @ NYFW – 2018

Photo: Helen Oppenheim

This is Geneva Taylor of Next, a lovely model reading a book instead of fiddling with a phone while getting her hair done backstage at the Badgley Mischka New York Fashion Week show for Spring 2018.   “Wolf Whistle Politics” by Dr Naomi Wolf is the book, serious stuff about the 2016 election and women in general – and women in politics.  Her makeup, not fully finished, is by Gucci Westman for Inglot, and her hair, not done, will be seen soon, along with a how-to for some inspirational hair images by Peter Gray for Cutler/Redken.  And there are some gorgeous photos of Geneva to come, with some stunning fashions, and  fabulous earrings.  Stay tuned …
