The fabulous fashions at her New York Fashion Week Show for Fall 2016 included these plastron leather-strapped looks, inspired by the large pad fencers wear to protect their chests. The elongated silhouette, inspired by Amedeo Modigliani and Alberto Giacometti, was offset by mid-parted long sleek hair tucked into high collars, by Paul Hanlon for Pai-Shau, and monster platforms. Long hair was tucked into high collars at the fabulous Vera Wang New York Fashion Week Show for Fall 2016. “It’s about the idea of a smaller rounded look, not pinned or sleeked, but with the hair emerging from an elongated design silhouette,” explained Paul Hanlon for Pai-Shau. This is an old, very simple trick, used in many fashion shows and editorials over the years, done beautifully here; it is a great idea for those with long hair, not often used in everyday life. BEAUTIFUL BRIDE, BIG ROMANTIC ROSE – 2017

Love the bigger than big beautiful white rose perched prettily to one side of the head of this beautiful bride from the Ines Di Santo Couture Bridal Collection for Spring/Summer 2017, shown yesterday, but an idea which can inspire for brides now. The simple, straight, mid-parted glossy, glowing blow-dried, flat-ironed hair by Felix Fischer for Pai-Shau was achieved with the help of a cocktail of products, always key, and will look as good the morning after the wedding as on the wedding day (not always the case!) The designer “pulled from Spring herself, imagining flowers that emerge in the season and the path they take from seed to sunlight” – using lace and embroideries on gorgeous gowns with movements, all soft and romantic.
