Sharon Blain Romantic Lilac Botticelli Hair – 2017
Botticelli, the early Renaissance Italian painter (1445-1510) has inspired many great hair looks, but perhaps never one quite like this wonderful romantic lilac hair with a knotted macramé hair cap by that Australian whirlwind, Sharon Blain. The Hair Art Educator, famous for her Boot Camps, took endless hours to create and perfect this inspirational look – one of many stunning styles she wowed with at the Intercoiffure America Canada Fall Atelier for 2017 held in New York, which resulted in two pages published in the December issue of Spain’s Peluquerias Magazine. Stay tuned for more …

CommentPurely Patricia Head Whimsey NYFW – 2018
Seen on Scene, Fab Fashionista, Patricia Fox @purelypatricia who is photographed in the front row of the Academy of Art New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2018. The New York assemblage artist/interior designer/style collaborator is wearing a red wire ornament on her head, manipulated and configured to what she calls a “Head Whimsey,” which was published internationally with a full page in the December issue of Spain’s Peluquerias Magazine. She is wearing a jacket from Janette Platinum, ’80s vintage plastic cascade earrings, both from her private collection. As to those eyebrows: “I am my own style, and do my own makeup – the blue eyebrows are an extension of myself. Brown brows are boring!” said the fashion inspirer. Tweed Pearls Glasses Waves NYFW – 2017
I have a feeling for tweeds this Fall. And a tweed with ruffles is even hotter. This great look, shown with embellished glasses and large pearls, is by Greedilous, designed by Youn-hee-Park, (0ne of three Korean brands presented) – all photographed backstage at the Concept Korea New York Fashion Week show for Fall 2017. The wet waves were by Jon Reyman, makeup by Janell Geason, both for Aveda. The full page on the left is from my July 2017 column in Peluquerias Magazine. CommentLarge Loose Wonderful Wedding Waves – 2017
Any bride would love this smooth shiny style with romantic large loose waves for her wedding day. Long lasting beautiful texture was created by Sherri Jessee. Sherri’s Hair Salon, using a 1 ¼” ceramic curling iron. “Be sure to spray each section with a heat protecting spray before you curl it,” she advises, “and clip each section on base. Allow the hair to cool, brush out the dry set with a soft bristle brush. Form the hair into soft waves and spray for shine and hold.” – First page of Helen Oppenheim Peluquerias Magazine column, May 2017 issue.

CommentHair For More Adventurous Brides – 2016
Two of the three brides, all with glorious, gorgeous hair, art directed by Jorge Luis for Privé by Laurent D Salon, as in the May issue of my column in Peluquerias Magazine. Left: A glorious look by Jorge Luis. He made two ponytails, one placed high, one lower, backbrushed for a polished look on the sides, then gathered the two, sprayed, and added flowers on the lower side. Right: Laurent D’s gorgeous half up, half down beauty was backcombed to one side for a casual effect and he crimped a small section at the front to simulate a veil. Keke Cifferello’s makeup for Tom Ford included, left, a stark streak of glittered green over the eye and, right, Velvet Cherry Lipstick.

Macarons Inspire Sweet Hair Color – 2016
The line-ups for La Durée’s Macarons in New York are always long because they are delicious, the very best. Shelley Gregory, Square Salon in Las Vegas, created mouth-watering multi-colors for superbly styled hair inspired by the macarons. She mixed Pravana colors in 7 separate bowls (Silver, Coral, Mystic Mint, Violet + Clear, Blissful Blue, pink, Yellow) and applied EmBee Meche between sections to keep it all clean, and then customized some magic effects “I wanted to take the color up a notch by layering pastel colors in a soft romantic way so the color stands out and looks trendy but is still chic and approachable,” she said. My article on these lovely looks appeared in my March 2016 column in Peluquerias Magazine, published in Barcelona Spain. Bravo, Shelley. Yum!

Peluquerias Magazine Cover – 2007
Peluquerias Magazine is published in Barcelona, Spain with editions and circulation in just about every country on the planet. I am US/Canada Correspondent for Peluquerias, but my column, which is very visual and 6 stories per column, one full page minimum, is not on the Internet!! There’s always a chance of a cover – and full pages for your great photos – for anyone in this International hair art fashion magazine like no other – if if if. Just ask. Linda Mason Makeup Artist Extraordinaire – 1992
These masterpiece illustrations, using actual makeup from Linda Mason Elements in 1992, two of my favorites, got a full page in Peluquerias Magazine, as do almost all of the Linda Masons I sent to the Spanish magazine. They love her art. I often wonder why I don’t get more illustrations/sketches/art for makeup and hair. To see more by Linda Mason, makeup artist extraordinaire, click HERE
