New Era @ Pierre Michel Salon – 2022
The New York-based Pierre Michel Salon has entered a new era. The torch has been passed. Jerome Lordet is the new salon Co-Director with Mark Garrison, and Denise McLaughlin for Management, as Pierre Ouaknine and Michel Obadia retire – after over 50 years.
Lordet has been styling hair the French way (movement, depth and sexy) at Pierre Michel for 24 years. Mark Garrison, who merged with the famous salon in 2021, has dressed supermodels and celebs at his own namesake salon, with Vogue and Elle covers, to name a few.
Pierre and Michel, launched their first salon in 1967, as thirty year olds. They were great at translating runway fashions into people’s lives and, a historical note, were the first salon in the United States to do foils for hair color, with Robert Renn, when Louis Licari worked as his assistant. May the Pierre Michel Salon continue at 135 East 57th Street, where they have been making trends for 22 years.
