The hair by Linh Nguyen for Cutler Salons for the Patbo New York Fashion Week Fall 2024 Runway Show featured party girls, with a center part, straight, sleek, and shiny or natural curly textured hair, undone, matte. The faces, by Charlie Riddle for Stila Cosmetics, had sultry eyes paired with soft focus skin, which had sheen and swept on blush – modern, edgy and feminine.

Nardos Amam’s Gilded Age @ NYFW – 2024

Nardos Amam’s opulent New York Fashion Week Collection for Fall/Winter 2024 was held at The Lotus Club. The couture and ready to wear fashions featured plants, birds, flowers – embroidered or appliqued onto the gorgeous gowns. The collection was inspired by the Gilded Age with a contemporary twist. The eye makeup by Marcello Costa was stunning, with 5,000 Swarovski crystals glittering from eyes, the hair by Brian Buenaventura for Cutler/Redken was casual, updos with wisps flying here and there, the hats and headgear by Christine A. Moore Millinery were fun, and elegant. It was all very elegant.

Playful hair, makeup and fashions at Tara Babylons’s New York Fashion Week’s Presentation for Spring 2024. The makeup, by Maite Moreira for New York Make Up Academy was “very pastel looking, very pinkish and very girly, yet very sexy, creaed to match a dreamy vibe.” A multichrome pigment flake decorated eyelids, a pastel pink draping blush, iridescent cheekbones and rhinestones were added for extra texture. Mascara was pink or white. While Rodney Cutler’s hair for the Presentation was Edwardian and romantic, there was also this classic bob. Flowers by Doan Ly decorated all heads. SELKIE FAIRY MAGIC NYFW SS2024

The Selkie New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2024 which took place in the St Regis rooftop ballroom was something else. It was a whimsical fantasy fairy tale showcasing models of all sizes, ages, one gorgeous girl in a wheelchair, two burlesque performers. Inspired by the Cottingley Sisters, who convinced the world in 1917 that fairies might exist, Creative Director and Designer, Kimberly Gordon, produced a superspectacular show. She asks “Do You Believe?” She does, and she transported everyone back in time to play dress up – “to embrace your inner child” with her cream puff dresses modernized with magic.
The feminine pretty hairstyles, many with hair extensions, was by Linh Nguyen for Cutler/Redken, and the make up by Lottie for Colour Pop featured a mole, soft bow lips, a flush-like blush.

Forehead Braids Florals Decorate – 2023

Braids on the forehead, neat buns and florals decorated many heads by Anthony Joseph Hernandez for Cutler/Redken at the House of Aama New York Fashion Week Show for Fall/Winter 2023. A folk tale of the Spider’s metamorphosis was inspiration for the patterns, colors, original textile elements and hair for the show with a theme – “Prelude” Aama Tales – about the survival during the transatlantic slave trade, the migration to America from the Caribbean.

The theme for the PH5 Presentation for New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023 was “This is not a Jellyfish.” The hair, by Carly Loura, Cutler/Redken. was center parted, two oblong buns, one either side of the part, which were worn outside of fishnet veiling covering the hair and the face.
The designers, Zoe Champion and Wei Lin, went “deeper underwater, into a world where plastic can be mistaken for otherworldly life forms and a place we have barely explored is being impacted by us so greatly.” 90% of the materials used in the collection were made of recycled materials. Biodegradable Crowns @ PH5 NYFW– 2023

For the PH5 New York Fashion Week Presentation for Spring Summer 2023, innovative sustainability was a focus for the whimsical knitwear brand, which is New York and China based, and was designed by Win Lin and Zoe Champion. The designers were inspired by mermaids and sirens, and the collection was dedicated to ocean preservation.
