Playful hair, makeup and fashions at Tara Babylons’s New York Fashion Week’s Presentation for Spring 2024. The makeup, by Maite Moreira for New York Make Up Academy was “very pastel looking, very pinkish and very girly, yet very sexy, creaed to match a dreamy vibe.” A multichrome pigment flake decorated eyelids, a pastel pink draping blush, iridescent cheekbones and rhinestones were added for extra texture. Mascara was pink or white. While Rodney Cutler’s hair for the Presentation was Edwardian and romantic, there was also this classic bob. Flowers by Doan Ly decorated all heads. I photographed backstage at the Elena Velez New York Fashion Week Show for Fall/Winter 2022 and was able to stay backstage long enough to get some good photos. Not always possible to stay long enough to get good photos! Here is a shot of some interesting earrings worn with one of the Velez fashions and Rodney Cutler’s hair veil. Marvel Studios presented the ‘Black Panther’ Welcome to Wakanda New York Fashion Week Showcase for F/W 2018. Rodney Cutler, Cutler Salons, and Redken’s Global Ambassador, said “Braids were very present in the movie,” and he collaborated with two of the designers, Cushnie et Ochs and Laquan Smith, to incorporates braids in the final looks (top photos.)
