Comment’70s Hair Flicks Flicking by Raphael – 1971
Know your hair history. From the 1971 Femme Fatale Collection these flicks flicked softly and romantically, curled at the front of a bob. Hair by Raphael Santarossa, former partner of Raphael & Leonard in London, who married a Canadian and moved to Montreal, where this look was photographed. “A woman should be a woman, and I want to make her more woman, I love women and know to make them more so,” Raphael, perhaps the sexiest hairdresser ever, said at the time. Versions of these famous flicks made it internationally, it was such a flattering look, so new-looking then, easy to do, with the front left longer at the crown. And anyone could wear this look today – it has stood the test of time. To see more, CLICK HERE

Romantic Hair Twists by Guido @ MFW – 2017
This romantic looking long hairstyle by Guido Paulau, Redken, was shown as one of many beautiful looks at the Docle and Gabanna Milan Fashion Week Show for Fall 2017. To do it yourself, add a little texture with a curling iron if your hair is straight. Use fingers to pull one to two inch sections from each side of the hair and pull back behind the ears, secure with bobby pins. Then twist hair over each side to the opposite s side and secure with additional bobby pins. (Don’t forget to hide them under the hair.) Spray to take away fly aways and to add a touch of polish. CommentLa Coupe Dancing Hair – 1986
This is Dancing Hair. By the then King of Chignons, Antonio da Costa Rocha. I produced the famous La Coupe Collection in 1986 and the talented Pascalain Gianello made this gorgeous collage in 2013, a surprise gift. The lovely Carol Dlugos, a La Coupe muse and favorite, is the model. I said at the time, there was a return elegance and romance. And now is the time to forget all the greasy hair, the wisps flying all over the place and make that return too! For the how-to archived on the website, click HERE. CommentNatural Hair Thin Braids @ Jonathan Simkhai -2017
Natural looking hair with long thin braids crisscrossed with white thread were to one side of the head at the dazzling Jonathan Simkhai New York Fashion Week Show for Spring 2017. “It was all about creating texture that isn’t too polished,” said Thomas Osborn who led the Catwalk by TIGI Team. “We wanted to keep the hair down and natural looking with an element of dry roughness to highlight the collection,” he said. Beads were added at the ends of some braids, and a long slim earring ending in a bead or two was on the other side of the head. High necks and fabric choker looks with long ends dangling were featured on many models in this show of romantic dresses for red carpets, galas, drop dead entrances.
