Roberto Perozzi, Italian-born, owner of the RPH Salon in Tokyo, has created an inspirational avant-garde hair art collection called “Lark’s Head” which is the name of the basic flat knot of Macramé, the patterns of which were adapted to inspire the looks in the first collage The two beaded looks in the second collage were inspired by Kintsugi, the Japanese ancient art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer, dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver or platinum.

The pink and blue Macramé looks, which took a year to perfect, tied knots and threads in patterns, adapting the technique of Macramé to hairstyles.     For the beaded looks, he knotted cord onto the hair like a Kintsugi pottery vase, to create a broken pattern that played with contrasting colors
