Gone With The Wind Re-Created – 1987
On December 15, 2014, it will be 75 years to the day since the World Premiere of Gone With The Wind, that legendary movie, the most celebrated in movie history, starring Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara. In 1987, I had this brainwave to produce a press release for La Coupe with hairstyles inspired by the movie. The gorgeous hair for the Tara Collection was by the great Kim Lepine, the fantastic fashions styled by Ariane Phillips, who later styled for Madonna, the exquisite photographs were by Geoffrey Hargrave Thomas. We left NY at 6 am and returned from the shoot in Connecticut at 3 am. Here is the corset scene, and the snood at the ball. CommentGo for the Gold with a Gold Snood – 1987
Go for the Gold with this hair accessory, a gold snood. Dress up for evening, also a great idea for the Oscar Red Carpet. In 1987, Kim Lepine of La Coupe added a gold snood to a mid-parted drape chignon for golden nights. If there is not enough hair and the hair is long enough, the snood could be stuffed with matching false hair, a silk scarf or even pantyhose for the same effect. Hide all under a layer of hair. “For flattering proportions – play.” Click for more here
