Anne Vyalitsyna, known as Anne V, Russian born model/actress, 10 years in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and ongoing. At 16 she was the face in Chanel’s Chance perfume ads. And from then has worked for all the majors of everything.
When she was just 15 years old, I photographed her backstage at the J. Lindberg NY Fashion Week show, with this amazing wide hair by Edward Tricomi, Warren Tricomi Salon, NY. I remember, I wanted to photo no one else, I waited and waited, and caught her for a brief second just after her nails were done and not dry for this photo.

It’s Kelly Emberg’s birthday today. Just look at this photo of her with hair up to there, by Harry King, in 1980. He remembers “Kelly Emberg was my first BIG hair for Cosmopolitan Magazine. OMG, what has supermodel Gisele Bundchen done with her glorious tresses? She has buzzed them off, that’s what. The new buzz cut can be seen in the new Balenciaga ad for Alexander Wang. I think she will regret this crop. It is, in my opinion, unflattering and her face needed the great hair she had. Or the great hair she will grow from this edgy but ugly shorn style. Watch for some new short hairstyles as Gisele’s hair grows … Unless this is a brilliant Photoshop manipulation or a clever wig, as suggested in www.dailymail.co.uk.com Whichever, Gisele Bundchen, Alexander Wang and Balanciaga will get lots of exposure for their latest ad campaign. With color and cut inspired by the Manhattan skyline at night, the genius of the legendary John Sahag can be seen in these two very different looks which have one haircut and one hair color. On the left is what he called the painted canvas with cut and color precisely shown for a special night out on the town. On the right, the precise cut and color are hidden by Sahag’s magical styling. This was 1997 and hair color with a cut like this had not been before, nor had a top model ever allowed anyone to do anything like this magic, as Siberian-born SuperModel Irina Penteava did on her hair.
