One of the witty photos Helmut Newton photographed in 1973 for the one and only late-lamented British Magazine, Nova, the magazine that inspired me for decades. I wrote the press release and bio for his great 1984 book, “World Without Men” and this is one of the photos I had to caption. This 1979 Yves Saint Laurent sketch in Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) from his latest collection Vidal Sassoon’s Soft Cubism campaign in 1979. The YSL collection was a huge success I thought it an ideal idea to translate into our first campaign for Vidal Sassoon USA.
