Juan-Manuel Alonso & His Hair Story - 2022

Juan-Manuel Alonso Collage by

Juan-Manuel Alonso is a Cuban/American Artist who is inspired by his heritage, what is around him, the paradise where he lives, in New Mexico, and his past life in New York where he went to FIT, designed and taught fashion (check the bio on his website.)  He works on several paintings at the same time, from one work to the next, in a trajectory of progression.  He also changes his very long hair almost every day in interesting ways I thought you’d like to see, along with photos of his hair past:

I met Juanma in 1978 . I was barely 16 and he was besides one of the most beautiful men I’ve met , one of the sweetest. He had a big impact on me. I learned so much culture from him and also a lot about music from Spain and Europe. History. Juanma could make me laugh as he was always happy. I remember him going to Studio 54 after work one night , his outfit ? All white spandex pants with a bubble jacket and white moon boots. I wonder if he remembers that ?
To know him is to love him.
