Hair History. This is the short version of Vidal Sassoon’s P-P-Puff, by Graham Wren in 1981. The silhouette was injected with a healthy dose of fresh … air. The natural-looking, casual silhouette was very new at the time, not just for Vidal Sassoon but for the world. One could go from rags to riches to get this look if the hair was not naturally curly. Our model, Kay Romero, wife of the then-President of Vidal Sassoon Salons, USA, Fernando Romero, had her hair set in gold lamé rags, which looked more glam than rollers, and she could have gone out on the town wearing them as her hair set! The gold lamé rags made a Peluquerias Magazine Cover and captured a lot of press all over the world at the time! For more, longer versions and how-to’s, CLICK HERE

Diana I will pass on your lovely Comment to Graham.
I had my first Vidal Sassoon cut in 1970. What an amazing experience and what an amazing cut for my wayward wavy hair. Love the Graham Wren’s PP Puff styling above and love the edgy styles. Can’t wait to visit NY for my birthday cut!
It’s been more than 30 years since Graham Wren cut my hair. But I never forgot him. In addition to being a master cutter, he changed my life by freeing me from the dreadful blow dryer. When I told Graham that I didn’t want to blow dry my hair anymore his reply was “When I’m done with you, you won’t have to”. Was he right. After all these years, I went to the Internet and Googled Graham Wren Vidal Sassoon, where I found Helen’s website and posted about my experience with Graham, never thinking that it would go anywhere. Helen, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reconnecting me with this uber talented man. The idea that I might see him again after all these years for another haircut has me excited beyond belief! Sometimes wishes do come true!
Rosemary: I contacted Graham Wren for you. Here’s his response:
” Hi Helen Well thank you for that, how cute that she remembered me singing to her,
I used to sing that to a lot of clients at the end of their haircut, just a little levity of course .
Maybe you could give her my email. Thanks again Love Graham x “
I will find out for you, Rosemary, and let him know. Loved to have heard him sing to you!
Graham was amazing. I have thick curly hair and he got me to ditch my blow dryer forever. Once he sang “A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody” to me with that lovely British accent. Wondering if he’s retired, I would love for him to cut my hair again.
