Memoribilia. This image is from a poor quality laser copy. It is from the first shoot I did at Vidal Sassoon, in 1979. The hair featured a short cut and an interesting, exciting rhinestone visor for nights out, created by Avram. (There were more photos of the hair but the quality of the copies I have are too poor to reproduce.) The photograph was by Tseng Kwong Chi (1950 – 1990) before he was famous. I remember we worked on the lighting for about 5 hours before we did a shot! He went on to become very famous, and still is today, even with a short 10 year career, published in all the major magazines and his self-portrait series, East Meets West, is in art galleries. Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Jean-Michael Basquiat, Madonna and Grace Jones are just a few of the famous he photographed.
